our story
is a worldwide community of prayer inspired by America’s First Citizen Saint .
Founded in 1938 by George Cardinal Mundelein, the Mother Cabrini League was created to promote the beatification and canonization of Mother Cabrini. For nearly 90 years, the League has endeavored to share Mother Cabrini's story in the hopes that people will, through her intercession, come to know the love of God and receive His blessings.
Today, the League continues that mission — and has grown into something more: a community of Cabrini Spirituality, where members come together to learn, grow in faith, and find peace amid life's joys and struggles. The League receives countless letters from members around the world, asking for prayer requests from the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as well as letters of thanksgiving for blessings they believe are attributed to Mother Cabrini's intercession.
The League spreads devotion to a saint whose life was dedicated to immigrants, the sick, the orphaned, and all those facing causes the world calls impossible. Together, we continue Mother Cabrini's mission of faith, courage, and trust in God's providence — and invite you to walk this journey of faith with us.
