Be conformed to the will of God

"Oh Mother, how can we have peace while our passions seem to ferment a rebellion within us?"

Mother Cabrini replied:

"Don't be afraid; with good will you will make much progress on the way of perfection. Begin today to conform yourselves to the holy will of God and accept everything that happens to you as coming from His hand. Then you will begin to enjoy that peace, tranquility, and joy that the saints experienced here on earth." —Mother Cabrini, New York, December 12, 1914

  • What worries, fears, disappointments, or frustrations are making it difficult for me to experience God's peace?

  • Mother Cabrini encourages us to "accept everything that happens...as coming from His hand." Is there a situation in my life that I have been fighting instead of entrusting to God?

  • Recall a time when God brought good out of a difficult situation. How does remembering that experience strengthen your trust today?

  • Think of one way you can surrender to God's will before the day ends.

Consider finishing your journaling by writing your own prayer. You might begin with……”Lord today I place into your hands”

Closing Prayer

Sacred Heart of Jesus,

Teach me to trust You as Mother Cabrini trusted You. Open my heart to Your will, even when the path is difficult. Fill me with Your peace, strengthen my faith, and help me to bring Your love to everyone I meet.

Heart of Jesus, I abandon myself to you.
